As part of the DRWF educational programme, we have introduced a new style of event. Offering a hands-on practical approach, Cooking for Diabetes Good Health & Wellness provides an opportunity to learn some new cooking skills and techniques; discover some inspirational recipe ideas and add to your understanding of how to make healthy, balanced food choices.
Working with the award winning team of chefs at Braxted Park Cookery School, near Colchester, this event is suitable for complete beginners to budding chefs. Together, we prepare and enjoy a specially selected menu. All recipes are approved by a Diabetes Specialist Dietitian to ensure they make an appropriate contribution to a healthy balanced diet.
Tuition is provided by one of the expert chefs at the School. We work in pairs and as a team so the day is interactive, inspirational and fun. Once all the cooking is done, we are able to enjoy the fruits of our labours and enjoy the meal we have prepared.
We hope this event and the selected recipes will demonstrate the wonderful variety out there for people with diabetes and prove that living with the condition needn’t be a barrier to experiencing an exciting and varied choice in food.
Finally, we also hope the day will give you both the confidence to go home and try something new and the incentive to learn more about your dietary and nutrition requirements while improving your day-to-day diabetes management.
